£1m upgrade at Hoar Cross Hall sees switchover to Smart Fire

Historic hotel Hoar Cross Hall is currently undergoing an extensive £1m renovation programme and has switched to Smart Fire UK as part of the upgrade process.

The Grade-II listed hotel, based in Staffordshire in 50 acres of countryside, wanted to combine period features of the building with a more modern design and as part of this, wanted to restore the hall’s fireplaces.

The owners opted to install EcoSmart fires from Smart Fire UK, which burn entirely by bio-ethanol, a clean burning liquid, sourced from agriculture, which means there is no need for a chimney, flue or extraction system.

As well as restoring the fireplaces back to their former glory, it has also given the hotel an efficient heat source which can be easily regulated.

Paul Holt from Smart Fire UK said: “The EcoSmart fires are an absolutely fantastic product and are incredibly versatile. They’re terrific for restoration projects like this. They create the look and feel of a real fire without the soot, ash and cleaning that’s associated with them.

“The restored fireplaces are magnificent and have once again become a focal point within the Hall.”

The changes are still ongoing at Hoar Cross Hall, and a new bar and retail shop have already been added to the establishment. The hotel has also unveiled a new function suite that will help capitalise on weddings and special occasions.
