A hotel in Sutton Coldfield is gearing up to start work on a £2m expansion, which will see its size increase by a fifth.
Work is set to begin at Lea Marston Hotel to create 30 new bedrooms, which would bring the total number of rooms up to 117 and increase the hotel’s capacity by 25 per cent.
The expansion comes as a result of the increase in demand for hotel rooms in the area and is supported by a £1.8m loan from Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking.
Mark Blake, chairman of Lea Marston Hotel, said the new bedrooms would be contemporary and come with free WiFi.
Blake said: “Starting the expansion of the hotel has been a milestone achievement for us and supports our vision of long-term growth.”
Lea Marston Hotel, located on Haunch Lane, opened in 1991 and has an annual turnover of £5m.
The work will create eight jobs and bring the workforce up to 150.
