£2m Lancashire hotel on track for summer launch

A new 26-bedroom boutique hotel in the Chorley countryside will open this summer, adjacent to the Oak Royal Golf Club after an investment of £2m.

The hotel development is being built to AA-registered standards and will be bolted onto the existing clubhouse on Bury Kane, Withnell, which opened in 2007 and is already home to a popular eatery.

The Oak Royal was even voted No1 on TripAdvisor recently out of more than 130 restaurants in the Chorley area.

Charles Downes, head of Hoghton Leisure and Alder Construction, the company behind the project, says he hopes the new development will be open in June and will offer a range of attractive packages for guests who want to ‘stay and play’.
Speaking to Chorley Guardian, Downes said: “The greens are USGA standard which means they are playable throughout the year so we expect our hotel guests to take advantage of our stay-and-play packages.

“Our research indicated that this is a prime area for a hotel with the M65 and M61 literally down the road.

“We are also anticipating a mixture of business people, week-end breakers and groups using our function suites for weddings and such.”
