Ace Hotel’s Alex Calderwood found dead at new London hotel


Alex Calderwood, a founder of the acclaimed Ace Hotel chain — which recently debuted in East London — has died aged 47.

Calderwood’s body was found in a room at the new Ace Hotel London Shoreditch on Thursday November 14, with the cause of death currently unknown.

A message on Ace Hotel’s website paid tribute to Calderwood: “Alex was our teacher, mentor, guru and most importantly our dear friend,” it said. “We will miss him”.
