ADA Cosmetics International, the guest amenities manufacturer, has announced the acquisition of Denmark’s leading provider of hotel cosmetics and dispenser systems, Scandinavian Amenities A/S.

The company hopes the move will allow the established German manufacturer to capitalise on the growth potential in the Scandinavian market.

Founded in 1979 in Kehl, Germany, ADA, a long-established company, is the market leader in central and southern Europe and certain areas of Eastern Europe. Since 2007, the company also has expanded its activities to the Near East and Asia.

The acquisition of Scanamenities now has laid the foundation for extending its geographical presence in northern Europe. The new subsidiary will be integrated in the ADA Group while the Scanamenities brand as well as its successful portfolio will be incorporated in the current product offering.

Scanamenities, headquartered in Hvidovre/Copenhagen (Denmark), is Scandinavia’s leading provider of hotel cosmetics and, in particular, of dispenser systems for hotels. Since 1986, the company has been supplying products to the hotel industry, airlines, cruise ships and vacation resorts.

Within Scandinavia, Scanamenities boasts a well established customer base, with well-known corporations like Nordic Choice Hotels, First Hotels and Thon Hotels.

“This investment lays important groundwork for us to gain a foothold in Scandinavia. We will, however, also harness the expertise of our new subsidiary as well as the sales and marketing synergies to further our expansion in the new markets,” states Wilhelm Könning, CEO of the ADA Group.
