An ambitious award-winning chef has joined five-star establishment Blythswood Square in Glasgow as executive head chef.
Zoltan Szabo, who grew up on a farm in Hungary, has more than 20 years’ experience in the kitchen across hotels in Scotland including Cameron House and Grand Central Hotel.
He also scooped Scottish Chef of the Year Award, which he won two years in a row.
Szabo will bring his passion for Scottish cuisine to the restaurant menu at Blythswood Square, championing some of Scotland’s most respected suppliers including Loch Fyne Oysters.
Szabo said: “I am extremely proud to be heading up the culinary team at the best hotel in Glasgow.
“I have a fantastic team of extremely talented chefs who will be integral in helping me serve some of the best cuisine this city has to offer and bringing my vision to life at Blythswood Square. I will be inspiring the entire team to reach their full potential as we strive towards an original, creative food offering for the restaurant and hotel.
“Scotland’s larder is bursting with the some of the finest produce in the world, including internationally acclaimed seafood and wild game. With our new autumn/winter menu launching in just a few months, I will be drawing on these abundant resources to create an aspirational, classic and in-season menu that’s bursting with flavour. I’m also looking forward to revealing some new, extra special touches and dishes which are wholly unique to the Restaurant at Blythswood Square in the very near future.”
