An audience with AA Gill at IHS 14

The Independent Hotel Show 2014 has announced that renowned writer and restaurant critic AA Gill will take part in a special breakfast roundtable discussion on the morning of the second day of the exhibition.

Hosted by broadcaster Peter York, the breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday 22nd October at 8.30am and will examine what luxury means to the modern consumer and how this impacts on the independent and boutique hotel market.

AA Gill has been a journalist and food critic for more than 20 years and is best known for his no-holds-barred approach to restaurant reviews. A firm believer in welcoming hospitality he has often been seen to stand up for waiting staff, condemning restaurateurs for syphoning off service charges for themselves, or serving dishes that could not be covered by their staff’s minimum wage.

Gill will be joined by cultural commentator Peter York, co-author of Harpers & Queen’s ‘The Official Sloane Ranger Handbook’, and previous style editor at Harpers & Queen.

The breakfast is expected to be a popular event, but is only open to 100 attendees on a first come, first served basis.
