The Andaz hotel brand has expanded further into international waters with the launch of its first Canadian hotel, due for launch in 2016.
The boutique arm of Hyatt Hotels, the newest Andaz boutique will take residence in the former site of the Union of Canada building to become Andaz Ottawa ByWard Market.
It is expected to open in mid 2016 and the 200-bedroom hotel will be the first Andaz branded establishment in Canada.
There are currently 12 Andaz hotels in the world, in key cities such as London, New York, Shanghai and Tokyo and plans to open Andaz Singapore in 2017.
The hotel will include a restaurant, rooftop bar and lounge, as well as an outdoor terrace, and stay true to the Andaz brand by collaborating with local artists, musicians and designers to run cultural events to complement its location.
“We are delighted to bring the first Andaz hotel to Ottawa and Canada. We believe it will become the new centre of social connections in the ByWard Market as well as in Ottawa,”
Claridge’s – the company who partnered with Hyatt – vice-president Neil Malhotra said. “The Andaz brand’s creativity and refined, yet casual atmosphere will elevate the neighbourhood and will connect guests to the best of the local community.”
