E-commerce booking platform provider Avvio has raised a glass in celebration after becoming one of the UK’s first specialists to boast an industry qualification on revenue management.
12 members of the e-commerce team are now accredited with the Certified Revenue Management Executive (CRME), a Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) certification, that means the team is fully qualified to make informed decisions to maximise revenue opportunities and adds to Avvio’s Google accreditation.
Frank Reeves, co-founder and CEO of Avvio, said: “It is a tremendous skillset to have and we are the only provider to have this. Both Avvio and our hotel clients will benefit hugely from the extra knowledge we are able to share.”
Kate O’Flynn, e-commerce manager at Avvio, added: “Our services are at the highest level they’ve ever been. We’re able to better align our efforts with the hotels we work with and can offer more in-depth knowledge of the industry to our clients.
“Our conversations are no longer limited to the portion of hotel revenue coming through the booking engine, we can now confidently consult on all business areas.”
Staff underwent six months of intense training and will get a refresher every three years.
Daragh Murphy, e-commerce manager at Avvio, said it would give the team a “competitive advantage” and meant they now understood many more issues that hoteliers experience.
He said: “Before the course, I don’t think we fully understood the challenges that hotels faced and I feel that they didn’t want to share these challenges with us because we might not understand.
“I’m hoping this qualification will help us to showcase knowledge of the industry and hopefully work closer with general managers and revenue managers in the various hotels we partner with. I also believe it will give us a competitive advantage over our rival marketing agencies.”
