The Bermondsey Square development – including the hotel made famous in the Channel Four TV series ‘Hotel GB’ is to be put up for sale.
The pioneering partnership between developer igloo and the London Borough of Southwark saw a neglected part of London become home to a mixed-use development containing apartments, affordable housing, retail units, a cinema and the Bermondsey Square Hotel.
The property featured in the Channel 4 television show Hotel GB where chef Gordon Ramsay and Mary Portas competed to see who could run different hotel departments successfully.
Prior to that the hotel was best known as the former home to Masterchef Greg Wallace’s restaurant, Greg’s Bar and Grill.
The 79-bed property is currently managed by Bespoke Hotels.
A manager at the hotel told Boutique Hotelier that any sale would not affect the business.
Agent Knight Frank was not able to confirm the asking price at the time of going to press.
