Bespoke Hotels acquires first Durham hotel

Bespoke Hotels has announced the acquisition of 29-bedroom The George Hotel in County Durham.

The traditional coaching inn, set against the banks of the River Tees, will now join over 150 properties in the Bespoke Hotels portfolio and mark the first foray into the Durham region for the group.

Consisting of 29 bedrooms, a ball room and a variety of function space, as well as award-winning restaurant and gardens, The George Hotel is popular for its food and beverage offering and is a sought-after destination for weddings.

Bespoke Hotels has also just announced the appointment of Nick Turner as the group’s new international managing director, who will focus on leading the brand’s business arm overseas and spearheading the brand’s international growth.
