Bespoke’s Lugger Hotel welcomes new general manager

The award-winning Lugger Hotel in Portloe has announced the appointment of new general manager, Matt Redhead.

Redhead joins the 22-bed boutique hotel with more than 20 years’ experience in the travel industry, including a decade with Cunard on board the QE2, a stint at the Midland hotel in Morecambe, St Michaels Hotel & Spa in Falmouth, as well as the Headland Hotel in Newquay.

The Lugger, a seaside property in the fishing village of Portloe in Cornwall, has been a part of Bespoke Hotels since 2011.

The hotel offers 22 bedrooms, a bar, terrace and fine dining restaurant and has won numerous accolades including being named ‘Best Seaside Hotel’ by the Sunday Times.

“I am delighted to be joining such an iconic establishment”, Redhead said. “As someone with significant experience in the South West and Cornwall, I have long admired The Lugger and look forward to upholding the excellent standards with which it is associated.”
