BH Personal Service Star Awards: General Manager of the Year – SHORTLIST


After a week of announcements, now we can reveal the shortlist for the final category in the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Stars, General Manager of the Year.

Following an overwhelming response, we have chosen nine finalists and will reveal both one winner and one highly commended on the night, to end the evening on a real high.

Having already announced the shortlists for Bar Manager of the Year and Restaurant Manager of the Year on Monday, plus Customer Service Star and Spa Manager of the Year Tuesday and on Wednesday Front of House Manager and Reservations / Revenue Manager of the Year, finally yesterday Housekeeping Manager of the Year and Concierge of the Year, now we can reveal the nine top dogs who have been chosen as finalists in our hotly-contested General Manager of the Year category.

After receiving an incredible amount of nominations, we thought it just to up the shortlist from five to nine names and award not one, but two accolades, one for the overall winner and one with a highly commended nod.

We can now reveal the nine finalists who have made the shortlist for General Manager of the Year as:

Pedro Bento – Longueville Manor

Daniel Thompson – Mullion Cove Hotel

Michele Mella – Barnsley House

Peter Brighouse – The William Cecil at Stamford

Paula Ellis  – Twr y Felin Hotel

Andrew Foulkes – Abbey Hotel Bath

Andrew Marsh – The Nadler Liverpool

Adam Rowledge – Georgian House Hotel

Tim Seward – Cliff House Hotel

Now with all the shortlists announced, the winner will be decided by a judging panel who will deliberate over the finalists on Monday 10 October.

The winners then be revealed at the Boutique Hotelier Personal Service Star Awards on October 18 at Hilton Olympia.

The event, taking place on the first day of Independent Hotel Show 2016, is free to attend for hoteliers and staff and will be a night of free-flowing Champagne and canopies.
