Bodmin nine-bed boutique goes up for sale for £750,000

St Benet's Abbey

A quaint nine-bed boutique bed and breakfast has gone on the market with Christie + Co for £750,000.

Situated in the village of Lanivet in the Cornwall countryside, the Grade-II listed St Benet’s Abbey bed and breakfast dates back to 1411 when it functioned as an abbey of the Benedictine order.

The nine-bed property has been trading as a b&b since the 1980s, when it was extensively restored and the current owners have continued to upgrade the hotel ever since.

Alongside the nine bedrooms, the b&b comprises a guest lounge, dining room, two-bed owner’s accommodation, gardens and guest parking.

Stephen Champion, business agent at Christie & Co comments: “St Benet’s Abbey possesses a wealth of charm and period features which is evident throughout the property and grounds.

“Our clients have built up a thriving bed and breakfast business in recent years; however, there is scope to build upon this and further develop the trade. This is a unique opportunity for a new owner to acquire such an historic property.”
