Boutique bed and breakfast in Bath becomes third acquisition for expanding local operator

A top quality boutique bed and breakfast in Bath has been sold to Bath Boutique Ltd, taking the company’s total portfolio of properties up to three.

One Three Nine has been owned and operated for 10 years by David and Annie Lanz, who have investment substantially in renovating and refurbishing the property since they took over.

The couple are well known in Bath having operated several bed and breakfast businesses in the city and have now decided to plan for retirement by downsizing their operation.

They will continue to run their other business, Paradise House Bath.

Bath Boutique Ltd are the purchasers of One Three Nine and is currently expanding its portfolio in the city. The business will continue to be operated by its current managers and staff alongside Bath Boutique’s existing properties, Grays and Brindleys.

One Three Nine is home to 10 bedrooms, a reception hall, guest lounge and breakfast room and was sold by Christie + Co.

Jonathan Hill, who handled the sale on behalf of Christie & Co comments: “Bath continues to be an area of high demand for hospitality/bed and breakfast businesses and we received a substantial number of enquiries about this particular opportunity. The city of Bath is a major tourist destination renowned internationally for its historic past and was inscribed as a world heritage site in 1987 which attracts over 4m visitors each year.”
