Boutique bolsters online bookings after digital revamp


The Cornish St Moritz Hotel, a 48 bedroom luxury resort, has seen their online bookings soar as a result of their new website and online booking platform from Guestline.

The Trebetherick property, with 13 self-catering apartments and 34 self-catering villas, required a fully integrated solution that would drive direct bookings and increase revenue through a mobile enabled website.

Guestline’s digital team worked closely with St Moritz to create the exact look and feel they wanted for their site and booking platform.

As a result, direct online bookings have increased by over 400% since the site went live and the resort has reduced its reliance on third party bookings, reducing their OTA commissions and driving profit.

The reception team is now dealing with fewer calls and can spend more time focussing on guest services.

The WebSuite digital marketing solution is the latest Guestline product to be launched into the hospitality industry, offering a single source vendor for online marketing and property management services.

Simon Bassett, IT Manager at St Moritz added: “Our old hotel website was inefficient in driving direct bookings. We wanted to reflect our brand essence and promote all the facilities on offer at the hotel to drive direct reservations and revenue. This has resulted in the hotel receiving more online bookings in the first 4 months than we generated in the whole of the previous year and an increase in spend per head.

“We are delighted with our new website – it’s eye-catching, easy to navigate and most importantly mobile responsive which, due to the ever increasing use of mobile devices, is essential for capturing mobile bookings and strengthening our site’s results in Google rankings. We are working closely with Guestline to further develop the site to drive Spa and restaurant bookings too.

“As we can edit the site ourselves, we can keep the site up-to-date and upload relevant seasonal offers to maximise conversions of lookers into bookers.’
