White joins global personalities named in the list, such as Professor Stephen Hawking and Lord Browne, ex CEO of BP.

White’s commitment to the hotel in the New Forest has seen her develop strong relationships with both staff and customers during her almost five decades in her role as chef de rang.

She said: “I am truly delighted to be simply nominated in People Management’s top 50 over 50 employees in the UK, let alone feature in the top 10 alongside people such as Professor Stephen Hawking and Lord Browne. In my time at Careys Manor Hotel I’ve been lucky enough to make some lasting friendships both in terms of my ever-supportive colleagues and with so many of our wonderful regular customers here at the hotel. Having now spent 45 years here, I couldn’t imagine life without Careys Manor in one way or another and hope that I have many more years of service left in me yet.”

James Hiley-Jones, group operations director, Greenclose Hotels Ltd said: “Anna has been a truly outstanding member of the Careys Manor Hotel team for well over four decades. Her unsurpassed dedication, her exceptional personality and her commitment to only the highest levels of customer service has supported her in becoming our longest standing member of staff. To be recognised in such a prestigious way, amongst some celebrated personalities and true icons of the business and scientific world in People Management’s 50-over-50 employees is an inspiration to us all.”
