Red Carnation Hotels has acquired Lisloughrey Lodge, County Mayo in Ireland with plans to renovate the property and rebrand it as The Lodge at Ashford Castle.
The lodge is located within the 350 estate of Ashford Castle, which the luxury boutique hotel operator acquired in June 2013.
Red Carnation Hotels managing director Jonathan Raggett said: “We are fully committed to supporting the local community, increasing staff levels at the hotel by recruiting locally and using local suppliers and artisans as the source of our food, amenities and décor”.
Activities available at the estate include fishing, golf, falconry, clay pigeon shooting and horseriding, as well as the numerous watersports on Ireland’s largest lake, Lough Corrib, which the properties overlook.
Red Carnation Hotels is a collection of five- and four-star hotels in the UK and abroad, spearheaded by president and founder Beatrice Tollman.
