A new company is understood to have taken over the running of The Old Rectory Hotel in the Brecon Beacons after it fell into receivership earlier this month.

The hotel, which is a popular wedding venue, says on its website that the building dates back to the 16th century and was once the home of celebrated poet henry Vaughan.

However, business website Insider reported this week that Simon Chandler and Sajid Sattar of Mazars Recovery Services from Nottingham were appointed receivers of Old Rectory Hotel (Llangattock) Ltd on 6 January.

It said the business was forced to close when it could not continue to trade. The debts of the hotel have not yet been disclosed.

The hotel is now being operated Brecon Road Ltd, which has kept on the six full-time staff and 12 part-time staff that worked for the property.

The joint administrators stated: “The new operators of Old Rectory Hotel have informed us that they intend to honour all bookings made, but anyone concerned can contact the hotel directly to discuss their arrangements.”

The hotel is located in the heart of The Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons National Park.
