The Courthouse Hotel in the heart of London’s Carnaby Street has unveiled the recent refurbishment of its luxury in-house private cinema.
The boutique hotel, that started life as a magistrate’s court, offers two restaurants, a Sanook spa, a bar complete with original holding cells that pay homage to its heritage, and now a cosy new cinema.
The newly-refurbished space, decked out with mauve leather seats, suede walls and rich aubergine carpeting, can seat up to 100 guests.
Those guests will them be treated to a film showing on a 35mm video and digital projection system with a 5.2m x 2.4m screen and Dolby 6.1 sound system.
To boost bookings from the get-go, the hotel is offering a cinema club every Saturday where a range of modern classics as well as new releases will be shown on the big screen.
A Champagne cocktail will be offered on arrival alongside the traditional cinema snacks including tubs of salted popcorn and ice cream.
The Courthouse Hotel is hoping the cinema will prove popular for corporate events, product launches and weddings, as well as targeting the leisure crowd.
