Champagne tops list of guest requests on romantic breaks

QHotels has revealed that food and drink are top priorities for guests when it comes to indulging in extravagances when away for a romantic break.

The AA Hotel Group of the Year 2014-15 conducted a poll in collaboration with YouGov and found that guests are more likely to order Champagne in their room (28%) and room service (27%) compared with other treats such as asking for luxury toiletries (17%) and ordering flowers to their room (15%).

Guests view the variety of bars and restaurants (45%) as the second most important factor when it comes to booking a mini break, pipped to the top spot by a good selection of historical attractions nearby (55%).

Claire Rowland, director of marketing at QHotels, said: “Guests really appreciate all the little added extras; it’s often the little touches that add to the romance and make a mini-break special.”
