Claridge’s D&G Christmas tree unveiled

The showstopping Christmas tree designed by Dolce and Gabbana has been unveiled in the lobby of five-star hotel Claridge’s.

The tree, which stands at 8-metres tall, has been created especially by the prestigious designers as part of a festive project that runs every year at the luxury London establishment.

2014 marks the second year that Dolce and Gabbana have been chosen to design the tree.

This year’s spectacular has been inspired by childhood memories, and features animals, ribbons and festive trinkets to bring a touch of fantasy to Christmas.

The tree is also adorned with 300 glass baubles which were blown by master artisans from Bellagio on Lake Como the oversized ribbons were handmade by D&G’s tailors in Milan.

There is also a royal throne with a crown and a handmade coat to add even more luxury to the decadent Christmas tree.

Speaking about the hotel’s collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, Thomas Kochs, Claridge’s general manager said: "We are delighted to invite Domenico and Stefano to spread their special magic in our lobby once again. Our guests and staff loved their tree so much last year, and they have created something equally memorable and enchanting this time.

"Both Claridge’s and Dolce & Gabbana are synonymous with timeless glamour, innovative spirit and traditional family values that are so important during Christmas.”
