Cotswolds move shows strength of local hospitality sector

The stylish and refined Malvern View B&B has been sold by sector specialists Colliers International off a guide price of £850,000.

New owners Marco and Cathy Giorgi sold a larger hotel in Eastbourne to make the switch to the Cotswolds and are looking forward to making the most of the coveted Cleeve Hill location.

He said: “After 16 years in the business back in Eastbourne we were looking for something Cathy and I could run together. Although prices in this area are quite high in comparison, this is a beautiful part of the country with a less seasonal aspect than the South coast.”

Colliers International hotels director Peter Brunt said the move underlined the perennial appeal of the region.

“We were selling hotels here all the way through the downturn while other regions were treading water. With the recovery picking up speed the Cotswolds appears more popular than ever.”

“The present owners have invested in excess of £111,000 improving on the facilities and the seven bedrooms offer scope for further development (subject to planning) potentially creating further letting bedrooms to capitalise on this super position.”
