London’s new boutique, the Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch, has unveiled its new restaurant, named Judge and Jury, and new Jailhouse bar.
The hotel, which once housed the infamous Kray Twins as the former Old Magistrates Court, opened in April, following an extension transformation project, and will now launch its new F&B concept and menus next month.
For the soft launch phase in March, the hotel is offering a 50% discount on all food for guests.
In the new Judge and Jury restaurant the design quirks include leather-bound law journals and courtroom memorabilia, in a nod to the building’s history.
The Jailhouse Bar will be situated on the hotel’s ground floor, and includes private cells where once infamous prisoners were held while awaiting trial. The space is a lounge area during the day and then transforms into an ‘after-work’ hub post 5pm.
The drinks menu features in-house infusions, tinctures and syrups, plus craft ales, wine and premium spirits. A sharing menu will also be available.
An innovative cocktail menu pays homage to the building’s past, with creative drinks including the Ball and Chain cocktail expected to be a popular tipple.
