The Cranleigh boutique has announced it has been shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Social Media in Marketing’ category at the prestigious ‘Hotel Marketing Awards’, due to be held at the Savoy in London on 15 December.
Now in its 21st year, The Hotel Marketing Awards has evolved to recognise the very best and most innovative marketing in the industry.
The event will also be donating all monies raised to the Teenage Cancer Trust unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey, which helps 14 to 24 year olds from across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
The Cranleigh boutique, based in Bowness-on-Windermere, has had another extraordinary year, winning the ‘Best Use of Social Media’ award at the Travel Marketing Awards in March, winning against P&O Ferries and Bournemouth Tourism; and in October, won the ‘Best Use of Facebook’ award at the UK Social Media Awards, triumphing over Evian, Aldi and Visit England.
In November, its Facebook page reached the 100,000 ‘likes’ mark, with one lucky follower soon to be announced the winner of the Cranleigh Boutique’s ‘Ultimate Prize’ – the use of the entire hotel for a weekend, worth more than £8,500. They have become infamous across the country for their outstanding Facebook campaign.
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Social Media in Marketing’ category at the Hotel Marketing Awards,” sasy owner Stephen Hargreaves.
“This is an esteemed national event and to be placed alongside hotels such as the Radisson Blu and Gleneagles, is very flattering.
"We have had another very successful year at the Cranleigh and have worked extremely hard in fully embracing Facebook and making it work for our business.
Once again, we are thrilled that the spotlight is being shone on the Lake District on a national level, in demonstrating how social media can be used successfully in promoting small businesses."
