Dakota Hotels has unveiled the launch date for its newest boutique venture in Leeds, with doors set to open on May 1.
The new 84-bedroom Dakota Deluxe Leeds will become the ‘jewel in the crown’ of Evans Property Group’s £25m investment into rejuvenating the Bond Court area of Leeds city centre.
The hotel will be the fourth in the portfolio for the independently-owned Dakota Group, which is spearheaded by Ken McCulloch of Malmaison fame.
He said: “It is great being back in Leeds and it’s time that Leeds had a luxury hotel because the city deserves it.”
Amanda Rosa has been responsible for the design of the hotel, which is situated between Russell and Greek Streets
The hotel’s F&B offering will be lead by the Bar & Grill, with a classically-inspired menu in a ‘vibrant’ brasserie-style destination.
The hotel opening will also see the first unveiling of Salon Privé, a new cocktail bar with a first-floor terrace overlooking Greek Street.
Additionally, extensive public realm and landscaping works amounting to circa £1m have been undertaken in the Bond Court area, working closely with Leeds City Council to create a stylish destination.
Dakota Deluxe Leeds joins the ‘originals’ Glasgow Eurocentral and Forth Bridge in Edinburgh, plus the new Dakota Deluxe in Glasgow city centre, which opened in spring 2016 n the portfolio. Leeds is the fourth Dakota and second Dakota Deluxe in the group.
A fifth, 137-bed Dakota Deluxe is scheduled to follow in Manchester’s Piccadilly Basin development adjacent to Piccadilly Train Station in 2019 as part of the expansion plan to roll out in major cities across the UK.
