Dehydrators launched for healthy, homemade snacks

Bonzer has launched the Excalibur Dehydrator, which uses heat to draw moisture out of food such as fruit, vegetables, nuts and herbs.

The machine enables hoteliers to make their own healthy, cost-efficient snacks such as banana chips and apple crisps that can be packaged and sold in the mini-bar, home-made granola or fruit breakfast bars for guests in the morning and dried onions and chillies to sprinkle on soup.

Each Dehydrator features an adjustable thermostat that fluctuates the temperature between 95°F to 155°F, thereby keeping it low enough to preserve the active enzymes found in fruit and veg, but high enough to remove moisture quickly enough to prevent bacteria.

This preserves the taste and healthy qualities of the food, according to Bonzer. It features a 26-hour and will turn itself off once the products are fully dried.

The Excalibur Dehydrators come in black and stainless steel, and in five and nine-tray variants with each tray measuring in at 15” x 15”. The mesh screens are BPA free and dishwasher safe.
