A deal has been made in Liverpool to transform a car park in Liverpool into a £20m hotel.
Elliot Group has acquired the land in Seel Street, within Liverpool’s Ropewalks area, from Hope Street Properties, to develop into a 116-bedroom hotel.
Elliot Group said that now talks were advancing with ‘a well-known hotel operator’ to create a 116-bedroom hotel on the site, designed by Falconer Chester Hall.
The design, subjected to approval, would see the hotel become home to the city’s first rooftop pool and spa, with the Elliot Group saying that the proposed operator is ‘perfect for the urban and funky neighbourhood’.
Conversations with the operator are expected to conclude shortly along with the design discussions with Liverpool council, before a planning application is submitted in early March.
Elliot Group is primarily a residential developer and has more than £325m of projects in planning and underway in Liverpool.
The company recently announced its plans for a £50m development in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle district and is currently exploring development opportunities in Manchester and Leeds.
