The Vean, a country house offering on the Caerhays Estate in Cornwall has welcomed two new staff members to take up a pair of key roles on the estate.
Luke Tyler has joined as the new general manager, while Nicola Jones has come on board as deputy manager and chef.
Tyler has spent the majority of his career working in the leisure industry, working in the NHS and in Hong Kong and is looking forward to taking the helm of the unique country house in Cornwall.
Jones brings more than 30 years experience to the role and won local acclaim working as pastry chef at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant at Watergate Bay.
With new staff changes in place, the five Gold Stars accommodation is hoping to boost its popularity with the local market by introducing some exciting new features. There will be a ‘pop-up’ restaurant open for lunch throughout April 2016, plus a range of residential courses.
As part of Jones’ new role she will have the freedom to create bespoke menus and personal dining options individually to meet guests’ needs, something that will bring a change to the way The Vean currently operates.
She said: “I would like guests to feel involved in the whole dining experience; I’m more than happy for the guests to see the food being prepared and cooked, for them to be really involved if they wish. I will be able to explain where all my ingredients are sourced from and will aim to use only local seasonal produce wherever possible.”
The Vean at Caerhays is a five Gold Stars accommodation that provides a range of hospitality options including B&B stays, private hire and exclusive-use wedding hire.
