Down Hall Hotel in Hertfordshire has announced plans for a £6m refurbishment project, due for completion in the middle of 2016.
The extensive work will see 100 bedrooms renovated, alongside the creation of a new spa, treatment rooms and kitchen.
The new Eden Spa, which has just been completed, provides a new hydrotherapy pool, sauna, steam room, power shower and four new treatment rooms filled with ESPA natural skin and spa products.
The new modernised gym is now home to new equipment for cardio, weight and strength training.
The refurbishment is on track, with more than half of the bedrooms now finished, decorated in a traditional heritage style to give a country house-meets-contemporary chic look.
The kitchen has also been completely refitted to better cater for weddings, parties and conferences, as well as benefit Down Hall’s award-winning restaurant, The Grill Room.
Next, the rooms’ development will continue, taking place in stages, with the refurbishment being completed floor by floor to ensure the hotel can stay open throughout.
Rooms that will be restored to their former architectural grandeur include eight feature rooms and a new bridal suite.
Andrew Oxley, general manager of Down Hall comments: “Huge investment is being made to develop both our leisure and corporate facilities to reinforce our position as a four star superior hotel. The combination of experienced staff, premium products and therapeutic treatments will ensure guests are provided with a first rate leisure experience.”
