Eden Hotel Collection has joined forces with The Royal Shakespeare Company to acquire the Grade-II listed Caterham House Hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
The hotel consists of 10 bedrooms alongside several reception rooms and a car park. It is located on Rother Street just a few minutes from the town centre.
The purchase marks the second for both parties, who together currently own the nearby Arden Hotel also. Eden Hotel Collection and The Royal Shakespeare Company jointly acquired Caterham House from Mr and Mrs David Young who have operated the hotel since 2002.
While the official selling price has not been disclosed, advisors Colliers International confirmed that it had been sold in the region on its £1m guide price.
Mark Chambers, group managing director of the Eden Hotel Collection, commented: “Along with our partners the RSC, we are pleased to have this exciting opportunity to expand our offering in Stratford-upon-Avon.”
Jonathan Wren, director at Colliers International, who advised the vendor in the sale, added: “The sale of the Caterham House Hotel is further evidence that the market for small bespoke boutique hotels has returned. The marketing of the hotel generated both a healthy demand from buyers and a real buzz amongst the local community. We are delighted that the hotel was purchased by such prestigious buyers.”
