EDITOR’S VIEW: Celebrating the crème de la crème of the boutique business

Zoe Monk

Last night Boutique Hotelier raised a glass with the industry to celebrate the best of the best in the hotel business.

The industry’s commitment to providing A-star service, its ambitious approach to growth, and its general ability to think outside the box means that success stories in the sector are in abundance and the UK’s best boutique properties are all testament to this.

The Personal Service Star Awards aim to recognise and reward the outstanding work of people who make up the tight-knit teams at the country’s top boutique hotels.

We are continuously in awe of these employees who will go above and beyond at the drop of a hat to delight every guest – whether it’s a concierge greeting you by name at the door, or a bartender who fixes you your favourite tipple – it’s the extraordinary attitudes of these individuals who really make a hotel stand out from the rest.

Over the course of the evening we presented 11 members of the boutique trade with awards for their performances over the last 12 months.

The evening would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the support of our sponsor partners. The Boutique Hotelier team would therefore like to say a big thank you to Mitre Linen, Star Quality Hospitality Consultancy, Tradelinens and Avvio, who all helped make the event such a success.

The bar has definitely been raised this year – we look forward to seeing which individuals and hotels are up to the challenge of exceeding it in 2018!
