Boringdon Hall Hotel in Devon is currently undergoing major redevelopment works, as the hotel gears up to launch its multi-million pound spa within the next year.
The grand house hotel, given as a gift by Henry VIII to one of his favoured courtiers, is creating the biggest spa facility of its kind in the south west, and one of the largest in the UK.
Named after the ancient Greek goddess of the earth, the Gaia Spa will offer a range of innovative treatments focusing on health and wellbeing.
Due to open next year, Gaia will house 12 treatments, a deep relaxation area, heat treatment facilities, swimming pool, a thermal pool for hydrotherapy and the Spatisserie restaurant. The spa will also offer a selection of open air treatments in the surrounding meadows, to give guests a new sensory experience.
Boringdon Hall is also developing its own range of own-brand natural products for use in the new spa.
