Luxury Cotswolds hotel, Ellenborough Park has launched its own gin in a bid to capitalise on the nation’s growing love for botanicals.
The property, which is run by general manager Oliver Williams, has worked with award-winning Cotswold Distillery to create the new dry gin in response to the growing thirst of guests to Ellenborough Park.
The main botanicals include cardamom, cumin, clove, cinnamon and black pepper; the blend of spices acting as a nod to the first Earl of Ellenborough, Edward Law, the former Governor of India.
The drink will be offered to guests at the hotel’s bar and restaurant, featuring in cocktails as well as the classic gin and tonic combination. The gin will also be available to buy on site for any visiting guests.
Oliver Williams, general manager of Ellenborough Park, commented: “We are proud to now offer our own signature gin. A spirit that was once tarnished by its ‘mother’s ruin’ reputation is now one of our best sold spirits. With the latest addition on the menu we want to be known for offering the best G&T in the whole of Cheltenham. It is the holy grail for any hotel bar.”
Ellenborough Park is set overlooking the Cheltenham Racecourse estate and is home to 61 bedrooms; an Indian-influenced spa, heated outdoor pool and fitness suite; and a variety of spaces available for business meetings, conferences, private parties and weddings.
The hotel is set to undergo a significant refurbishment later this year, including the creation of a new hotel bar helping to further strengthen the hotel’s food and drink credentials.
