Epic £200m upgrade of Trump Turnberry now underway

The multi-million pound renovation of Trump Turnberry is now officially underway.

The iconic hotel, part of Starwood Hotels’ The Luxury Collection, has started its £200m refurbishment programme, which will see a complete upgrade of the property’s 157 bedrooms, restaurant and public areas.

Changes to the Ailsa Championship golf course are now underway, with a renovation of the 9th hole bidding to become one of the ‘greatest par 3s in the world’.

When finished, Trump Turnberry will also boast a 500-person grand ballroom.

The total refurbishment is scheduled to be completed in June 2016, with the historic property then being officially unveiled to the public.

After what was reported to be a fiercely competitive bidding process, Trump Turnberry chose to work with Fife-based Management Company Hardies and contractor ISG to carry out the renovation.

“When completed, Trump Turnberry will be the most luxurious hotel anywhere in the UK and beyond,” stated Eric Trump, executive vice president of development and acquisitions for The Trump Organisation. “Having already completed vast renovations to the magnificent golf clubhouse and select public areas, we are thrilled to move into the second phase of our major renovation.”
