Smart London boutique, The Arch has welcomed a new general manager, who joins from the five-star Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch.
The 82-bedroom property, which is operated by AB Hotels owned by the Bejerano family, has appointed Ray Goertz as GM, who takes over from Eva Mount who has left the hotel to join The Athenaeum near Piccadilly.
Goertz boasts a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry after starting out in hotel school in South Africa. He moved to London in 2004 and worked his way up from reception supervisor to general manager over an 11-year period.
He has opened four hotels in London, including ME London and M by Montcalm, and has also worked at The Ritz as revenue manger and was crucial in the de-flagging of Four Seasons Canary Wharf to independent hotel Canary Riverside Plaza.
Most recently he was at the helm of Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch.
Speaking to Boutique Hotelier, he says: “I am thrilled and very proud to join AB Hotels, running the iconic boutique The Arch hotel where we will continue the success of the hotel with our exceptional service and attention to detail for all our valued guests.”
Director, AB Hotels, Rafi Bejerano, tells BH: “We’re terribly fortunate to have found Ray Goertz in our search for a new GM. Ray comes with a wealth of experience in the number one role, but more importantly has the passion and enthusiasm we look for at AB Hotels. With a keen eye for detail and a savvy commercial approach I’m confident that he will continue to drive The Arch further forward in order to maintain our excellent market share and reputation.”
