Dukes London, the luxury boutique hotel in the heart of the capital, has announced a new partnership with Liberty London, which will see the lifestyle brand redesign the property’s bedrooms in its first ever hotel project.
Dukes London revealed last month that it is to undergo an extensive multi-million pound refurbishment, which will see its bedrooms, public areas and restaurant completely transformed.
Managing director Debrah Dhugga revealed last night at Dukes London Christmas party that the hotel will be bringing in Liberty London to redesign a handful of the property’s bedrooms, which will mark the lifestyle brand’s debut hotel partnership.
She described the upcoming period of change as ‘incredibly exciting’ for the hotel, and said that work is due to begin in January with an aim of being completed within five months.
She also revealed that the restaurant will be completely transformed into a more casual dining space, to be named GBR, headed up by the hotel’s executive chef Nigel Mendham.
The Dukes brand is on the cusp on launching its first overseas property, Dukes Dubai on January 27, and with 300 staff prepped and ready to go, Dhugga is itching to get the doors open on the new 279-bed property.
“The new hotel in Dubai will be similar to Dukes London, but they will be sisters and not twins. We’ve taken staff from London over – including people from Claridge’s – to be part of the team there and we are incredibly excited about both new projects.”
Liberty London won the contract for the bedrooms after a pitching process where it was up against a handful of other fashion brands. Dhugga said that Liberty fitted perfectly with Dukes London and the vision that she has for the hotel.
