The LaLit London has appointed a new general manager to replace Arun Kumar who was responsible for the launch of the luxury hotel in February this year.
Johnson Joseph has joined the 70-bed hotel from his role with the Cairn Hotel Group, where he was most recently hotel manager at Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross.
He also boasts managerial experience across a range of brands, including Hilton and Holiday Inn and has spent the last two years with Cairn Hotel Group.
Joseph takes over from Kumar who left in October to join Sunborn London, the four-star yacht hotel situated in the dock by London’s ExCeL centre.
He will now oversee the management of the five-star hotel, its 70 bedrooms, four F&B outlets including the main Indian-themed Baluchi restaurant and a cocktail bar, plus four treatment rooms built two floors below ground.
The LaLit London opened earlier this year following the £50m transformation of the Grade-II listed former St Olaves Grammar School. The hotel marked the first overseas property from India’s largest privately-owned hotel brand, The Lalit Suri Hospitality Group and is one of 13 hotels operational in the portfolio.
