The Langley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Buckinghamshire has announced the appointment of David Harris as hotel manager.
Opening in late 2018, The Langley is a new 41-room boutique hotel and 25,000 sq ft spa, owned and managed by City & Country Hotels, situated within 500 acres of Buckinghamshire countryside.
The former hunting lodge of the third Duke of Marlborough will comprise of two buildings, a historic mansion and a Grade-II listed 18th century building that was formerly used as a stables and brew house.
Previously operations manager at the Ashford International Hotel, Harris has more than 18 years’ experience in the hospitality sector.
He held his first general manager position at The Marquis at Alkham where he was instrumental in its achievement of the AA Inspectors’ Choice in Britain & Ireland 2015/16 as well as its inclusion in the 2016 editions of the Michelin Guide and The Good Hotel Guide.
Before this, Harris was F&B manager at Eastwell Manor, Hotel & Spa (which has since been acquired by Champneys) where he oversaw a number of large-scale events and developed new procedures with a focus on maintaining its AA Four Red Star status.
In his role at The Langley, Harris will lead a team of approximately 100 staff members.
His immediate responsibilities include overseeing the completion of the build and restoration process, managing the pre-launch budget and recruitment.
On his appointment, Harris said: “I am very excited to join the team at The Langley ahead of its anticipated launch. The meticulous restoration and design process is testament to the scale and ambition we have for The Langley and we are committed to offering an exceptional experience with service second-to-none when we open our doors to guests later this year.”

The hotel is being designed by Dennis Irvine Studio, who also created the concept for The Wellesley and the two Wellesley yachts and once open will mark the end the four-year multi-million pound restoration project.
The Langley will also join The Luxury Collection of Hotels and Resorts, and become the fourth property in the UK to join the portfolio, operating alongside The Wellesley, The Park Tower Knightsbridge and The Westbury in London.
