The bells have been chiming at Tewkesbury Park following its extensive £4m refurbishment, with wedding bookings more than tripling since its new look was unveiled.

The 85-bedroom hotel, complete with 9 suites in the main house, will host a total of 23 weddings this year, compared to just 7 in 2015.

The hotel has undergone an extensive renovation programme since it was acquired by Claire McIntosh, her mum and brother in 2014.

All the bedrooms have been given a makeover, plus the public areas and meeting rooms completed redesigned.

Two new spa rooms were also added.

Speaking exclusively to Boutique Hotelier, Claire McIntosh said she hopes the boost will continue well into next year.

The family-owned hotel will also see the addition of a larger function suite, which will be a completely new build on the grounds of Tewkesbury Park.

Work will begin on this extension in October with a scheduled completion date of July 2017.

Claire says: “We’ve already booked one wedding for August next year in the new function suite – we have all the 3D images and the builders are ready to go, it’s just a case of finalising the plans.

“We hope to continue to push the weddings side of the business even further when it’s up and running.”
