Former Manchester United football stars Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have officially unveiled the launch date of their joint hotel venture, Hotel Football.
The world’s first ‘football hotel’ will open for business on December 8th 2014 and is now taking bookings from then onwards.
Gary’s brother Phil and other retired teammates Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt are also involved in the building of the four-star hotel, complete with 133-bedrooms, which is located directly opposite Old Trafford football ground on Sir Matt Busby Way.
Bound to be a popular choice for football fans on match days, the 10-storey hotel will also be home to a conference centre and five-a-side football pitch on its roof.
It will also incorporate a Cafe Football-branded restaurant, one of which was launched by Giggs and Neville in London earlier this year. The Manchester eatery will boast a menu designed by two Michelin star chef, Michael Wignall and will feature twists on terrace classics such as sausage rolls.
The hotel will also be the base for the Old Trafford United supporters club.
Gary Neville said: “Ryan and I have spent so much of our lives playing at Old Trafford and appreciate everyone who supported us there over the years.
“To make sure that the hotel appeals to everyone, not just football fans, we are working with some of the most talented people in the industry to create something unique and inviting – with a focus on excellent customer service.”
