FIRST LOOK: Bloomsbury boutique Academy Hotel braces for relaunch

Academy Hotel, owned and operated by YTL Hotels, is gearing up to reopen its doors following a multimillion pound renovation.

The hotel has undergone a five month refurbishment, headed up by New York-based Champalimaud Design and will reopen fully this summer.

50 new-look bedrooms have been created, as well as a Alchemy Bar, library, all taking inspiration from the ‘lives and loves of the Bloomsbury set’ who lived and worked in the area in the early 20th century.

Based on famous Gower Street, The Academy is set across five townhouses, and includes a conservatory and garden courtyard.

The lower ground floor will house a breakfast bar Refectory.

YTL Hotels is also gearing up to launch the hotly-anticipated Monkey Island Estate Hotel. The Estate has been undergoing a transformation since June 2017 and alongside the 27 bedrooms and three deluxe suites, will be home to a brasserie, a luxury spa, plus a monkey lounge with a secret staircase leading up to a whiskey snug, due to launch this month.
