A trendy boutique hotel in the Cotswolds has opened a new accommodation offering in a bid to ‘shake up’ the holiday lettings industry in the region.
The Old Stocks Inn in Stow-on-the-Wold, owned by Jim Cockell, has launched Parson’s Barn after a three-month £500k refurbishment project and is hoping the addition will help the business further cater for families and group bookings.
The main 17th century inn is home to 16 bedrooms and now owner Cockell is ‘thrilled’ to open the latest venture, the Old Stocks Inn Bolthole: Parson’s Barn.
The apartment, situated a short walk away from the hotel, is home to three bedrooms, a kitchen, lounge area and outside terrace, with all the amenities at the Old Stocks Inn available for guests.
Jim Cockell, owner of the Old Stocks Inn, said: “We felt that the holiday letting market really needed a breath of fresh air. We’re out to achieve that and shake things up by combining the space and flexibility guests look for with a holiday cottage break, with all the luxurious touches and comforts you’d expect from a boutique hotel stay.”
He added: “When we arrived on the Cotswolds’ hotel scene in 2015, after a dramatic refurbishment, we made a real mark on the tourism industry here, helping to put Stow-on-the-Wold on the map by offering something a little out of the ordinary.
“Our move into the luxury cottage breaks market gives us the chance to make our mark again, raise the bar for local holiday lets higher and provide our customers with something new.”
