Boutique hotel gem The Painswick, part of The Calcot Collection, boasts an enviable position on a bank of rolling Cotswolds’ countryside, with sprawling views of a classic British landscape. General manager Luke Millikin explained to BH back in October 2016, just six months after the hotel launched, that he brings the team out on the terrace every morning for his team talk, just to remind them of the beautiful location they are in and to get them fired up for the day ahead.

Montcalm City

Aviary

The hustle and bustle of London certainly seems a world away up on the Aviary terrace at Montcalm Royal London House. With the hotel having opened in early 2017, the 10th floor of the building hosts the Aviary and the trendy space has already found favour with celebrities far and wide.

The Runnymede on Thames

Runnymede

The Runnymede makes the most of its riverside location on the banks of the River Thames, just downstream from Royal Windsor, with the hotel’s award winning restaurant The Lock Bar & Kitchen terrace set in a prime position for riverside views.

South Sands Hotel

South Sands

Set on the edge of the south west coast in Salcombe is South Sands Boutique Hotel, which has beautiful views towards the sea and the ragged cliff edges of the natural South Devon landscape. The hotel’s restaurant has this setting at its heart, with all chairs and tables positioned to face the water’s edge.

Hotel Endsleigh

Endsleigh

Olga Polizzi’s Devon Grade-I listed boutique Hotel Endsleigh is set in 100 acres of what it calls ‘fairytale woodland’ in the secluded West Country. Formerly the Duke of Devon owned the property and was said to have chosen the spot for his fishing and hunting; it’s clear to see why.
