A five-star B&B in the Lake District, which scooped an award from VisitBritain for its breakfasts last year, has gone on the market for £1.05m.
Storrs Gate House Hotel is a traditional 19th century house in Bowness-on-Windermere in the Lakes and holds great potential for an incoming owner.
The property is split over three floors and is home to seven bedrooms, a 14-cover dining room, plus a terrace that overlooks the property’s gardens.
The current owners, Vince and Shirley Byrne, acquired the business in 1999 and have built it up with traditional-style decor and attractive period features.
The business is well-known locally as well as further afield and was a winner of the 2014-15 Breakfast Award by Visit Britain.
Ashley Cobban, Business Agent in Christie & Co’s Manchester office comments: “There is great potential for an incoming purchaser to further develop the restaurant side of the business with the introduction of evening meals, which would undoubtedly increase turnover. It would suit all kinds of buyers from either a first-time purchaser to an experienced operator with catering experience who is looking to build on the excellent foundation that the current owners have established in a unique location only minutes away from Lake Windermere.”
