The former Carfax Hotel in Bath has gone on the market for a guide price in excess of £4.5m by its owners Geco Spa.
The Grade-I listed Georgian property comprises three terraced townhouses and a two-storey coach house and operated as a 31 bedroom hotel before closing its doors in 2013.
Now Savills has been instructed to sell the property by its Italian-based property company owners, which also comes with full planning permission to create an additional eight bedrooms and extend the dining space.
The establishment is located along the north side of Great Pulteney Street, within close proximity to all of Bath’s main attractions and the train station in the city centre.
Martin Rogers, hotels director at Savills, comments: “This historic property previously traded successfully as a hotel and with Bath’s strong tourist market, plus planning permission in place to add further bedrooms, it could certainly do so again. Alternatively, it could be converted into luxury houses or apartments subject to the necessary planning consents.”
