The former co-owner of Generator Hostels has joined growing hotel brand Equinox as president, before the chain begins its expansion across the globe.
Josh Wyatt, who left Patron Capital the owners of Generator in March 2016 after 11 years, has announced he has moved to New York to assume the role of president of new hospitality brand Equinox.
The brand, which operates 80 upscale, full-service clubs in London, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Boston, Texas and Washington and Toronto, announced in 2015 plans to open its flagship hotel in New York in 2019.
Wyatt was responsible for building the Generator brand in his previous role, growing the portfolio from two properties to 12 hostels around Europe.
Now in his new position at Equinox, Wyatt will be tasked with leading all facets of Equinox’s hospitality brand, overseeing brand real estate operations, executing future growth strategies and managing guest experience across the portfolio, which is poised to grow to more than 50 hotels worldwide.
He says: “From a personal perspective, I could not be more thrilled to work with the Equinox team and their portfolio of iconic lifestyle brands. With a mission to create a hotel experience for high performance travelers, where style and substance will co-exist within striking architectural spaces, our hotels will curate meaningful experiences where the science of fitness meets the art of travel.”
