Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has revealed the former Hotel Missoni Edinburgh will be renamed the G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh.
The G&V Royal Mile Hotel Edinburgh, an abbreviation of George and Victoria, will collaborate with a trio of local Scottish designers to reveal new, modern Scottish-inspired uniforms, crockery and linens.
These include Edinburgh-based fashion designer Judy R Clark, renowned Glasgow-based design firm Timorous Beasties, and local kilt designer Howie Nicholsby.
The property is one of the first hotels to be reflagged under Carlson Rezidor’s new Quorvus Collection since the termination of the Hotel Missoni licence agreement earlier this year.
The former Hotel Missoni Kuwait, rebranded the Symphony Style Hotel Kuwait, will also join the collection, as will the upcoming May Fair Hotel London, owned and operated by Edwardian Group London
The Rezidor Hotel Group president and CEO Wolfgang Neumann said: “These three unique hotels lay a strong foundation for the further development of Quorvus Collection. The Edinburgh and Kuwait hotels will join the Quorvus Collection immediately and we anticipate The May Fair joining the Collection later in the summer of 2014.
"We aim to grow a global portfolio of 20 hotels in operation and under development by 2020 through conversions and newly-built urban hotels and resorts”, added Neumann.
