A former Victorian shooting lodge in Braemar has gone on the market for £1.2m, with the sale bringing a multi-faceted hotel business opportunity to an incoming operator.

Braemar Lodge Hotel and Chalets in Royal Deeside is currently run by Ronnie and Fiona Moore, who have owned the property since 1996 and now wish to retire.

During their tenure, they extensively refurbished the main property and added a bunkhouse and self-catering chalets.

The country-style hotel is home to seven bedrooms, a lounge bar, plus dining room and restaurant over two main areas.

The 12-berth bunkhouse and nine self-catering chalets come with the hotel.

Alistair Letham, a director in the UK hotels agency team at Colliers International, said: “Braemar Lodge Hotel and Chalets is truly a multi-faceted leisure business offering a range of accommodation to suit all requirements and budgets. It is also complemented by an attractive restaurant area and the popular Malt Lounge Bar, making it an excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a thriving, well-balanced business in an area of enduring appeal to visitors.”

The Deeside village of Braemar, with its Royal connection and the famous Highland Games, has long been popular with holidaymakers and sportsmen, drawn to the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.
