Glewstone Court, a charming Georgian hotel on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, has been sold by specialist hotel property adviser Christie + Co, with funding arranged by sister company Christie Finance.

Owners and operators Christine and Bill Reeve-Tucke decided to call it a day after 27 years of managing the business.

The couple pass the torch to Gary and Karen Homewood, who will run the hotel with the help of their children Amy, Ben and Charlotte.

Keen to continue the good name of the business, the couple has declared that the front of house and kitchen team will remain the same.

“We feel privileged to be taking over Glewstone Court, a hotel in an area of outstanding natural beauty which we frequented many times, and look forward to continuing the warm ‘Court’ welcome to our guests.

“After 28 years working in the food industry ‘corporate world’ we decided it was time for a lifestyle change. In late July 2014 we started looking for an opportunity wherein we could as a family work together, combining our skills and passion for food and entertaining to deliver an unforgettable customer experience.

We saw by chance in the paper that Glewstone Court had come onto the market due to the retirement of the current owners after almost three decades. We immediately contacted Christie + Co, who arranged a viewing within days.”

Situated in an idyllic rural setting with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside, the Grade II listed hotel briefly comprises a drawing room with bar and French doors opening onto an outside courtyard, eight large en-suite letting bedrooms accessed via an impressive spiral staircase leading to a beautiful porticoed galleried landing, restaurant, and a separate owners family suite.
